As a result of our marketing strategy, the Marketing Committee got busy with their first task
– designing a logo. With the help of a professional designer, a final design was presented to the Spring Membership Meeting in 2014.
The committee is very excited with the logo. It captures the key ideas of LCS as well as has an attractive nature about it.
The logo integrates two main components. First there is the use of the name of our school. Rather than use our acronym (LCS), we thought it important to use the full name as our identity, eliminating any confusion as to what LCS stands for. Within the Ontario Christian Schools, we are from Listowel. Within the Listowel community we are the Christian School. We feel both identities are important and clear in the logo.
Secondly we have the graphic which captures many ideas. The four people are centred around the cross – a key statement for LCS. The people are of different sizes to represent that LCS has a strong sense of community and is a place for students, parents, grandparents, and supportive adults. The different colours (or shades) represent diversity and inclusion of all God’s people. These thoughts are intentionally captured in the graphic. I have also heard others offer their interpretation of what it means to them – art has a wonderful ability to speak to people individually.
It is our prayer that the Listowel Christian School community integrates the qualities within our logo into our daily learning and living.
